Alexa Park Las Vegas: A Neil Diamond Tribute

The legendary Rob Garrett’s “KING OF DIAMONDS” Neil Diamond tribute Las Vegas residency continues in the “Modern Showrooms Las Vegas” at Alexis Park Resort Hotel.

Neil Diamond is one of the most successful and beloved singer/songwriters in pop/rock music history.

Besides being one of the top-selling and concert drawing artists ever, he’s also composed the songs of a generation — including some of the most famous songs on the planet.

In the beginning of 2018, shortly before his 77th birthday, Neil Diamond stepped away from live performances after being affected by Parkinson’s.

However, Diamond’s on-stage legacy continues to be preserved for audiences worldwide through Las Vegas entertainer Rob Garrett, often called “the best of the best”.

Ask Siri “who is the top Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll hear the same name.

Like his musical hero, Rob Garrett was a Brooklyn, New York native.

In the spring of 1974, his parents relocated from New York City to Las Vegas, where, at age 16, he witnessed his first live Neil Diamond show when Diamond debuted in Las Vegas to record crowds at the Aladdin Hotel’s “Theater for the Performing Arts” in July 1976.

Garrett went on to see him multiple times across the country—right up until Diamond’s final U.S. concert at the LA Forum on August 12, 2017.

In 1980, Garrett created his own band, “Rock n Neil Diamond tribute Las Vegas residency Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a successful 15-year run in Las Vegas and across the nation before making the move from cover band frontman to a full-time tribute performer dedicated to one of his boyhood inspirations.

In 1995, Garrett was personally hired by Paul Revere (of The Raiders) to portray Neil Diamond in the Honolulu production of “Legends in Concert”.

What was meant to be a short engagement turned into a three-year success.

By August 1998, Garrett was back in Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another two years before deciding to go independent.

He began a busy tour circuit, building a large and loyal following along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds Las Vegas.”

He continues to draw packed houses nationwide, often in venues fit for superstars.

Garrett has also won numerous awards, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”

“Since he (Diamond) announced his retirement, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.

On May 19, Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating Rob’s 50 years as a Las Vegas resident and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.

Now in the year 2025, Garrett celebrates 45 years on stage in Las Vegas, with the last 30 years devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.

It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has played in more Vegas rooms than any peer.

Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the nation’s sole ongoing Neil Diamond tribute show.

Alexis Park Resort Hotel is located at 375 E. Harmon Ave., about a quarter mile from Paradise Road.
